La La Land film still 1For a few seconds it was this year’s Oscar winner for Best Picture and it made its director the youngest one who won an Oscar for Achievement in Direction. La La Land was one of the most discussed and praised films of 2016 and as a film that paid tribute to the classic Hollywood, it references few old films.

While Gosling is waiting outside the theater, two more posters, except from Ray’s film, are seen. Edward L. Cahn’s Radio Patrol (1932) and Frank Borzage’s A Farewell to Arms (1932).
